Two Detentions Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, as stated by law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, the force said.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was one of the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT after reports came in regarding several individuals injured by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.

The attack - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
